I’ve been fussing with editing software and youtube for about a week now, finally got something online :) Kind of a teaser for the full length process DVD that I’ll have out this spring… oh, and there’s a new book coming too, but more on that later ;)
the finished piece without all the video compression:
5x7, oil on illustration board

Very fun video...I love that languid little passage of paint blending when the music slowed down. Clever. Hey, David, what colors do you keep on your palette, as a rule?
thanks!
the colors on my palette in this video are pretty much my normal palette, though there are always colors that go unused for every painting. But from the video, from left to right:
Titanium White, Alizarin Crimson, Brilliant Pink, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Scarlet, Montserrat Orange, Cadmium Orange, Scheveningen Yellow, Nickle Titanium Yellow, Naples Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Cinnabar Green Light, Sap Green, Chromium Oxide, Windsor Green, Cobalt Turquoise, Prussian Blue, French Ultramarine, Kings Blue Deep, Old Holland Violet Gray
Dude! That´s very inspiring! I think i´m going to watch this a dozen times today... Cheers!
David,
Loved the work. It's very intense. I love to see artists at work and you rock that canvas.

Thanks for the demo Dave. Great to see how you work a bit looser. :)

Reckon I'm gonna get me one of your process dvds when they come out.
HI David
I David I always love your daddy´s works, now I can see your work too and is amazing.I´m from Brazil and I have the intention to buy a Illustration Board from Dick Blick, but if tell the name of your board that you use for all your arts will be agreat help.In Brazil the arts store doesn´t work with this kindboard,so I need a feedback from you,so this way will be no problem.
Again thanks for the attention
