Though I'm still all traditional in my paintings, I've been having some fun with digital black and whites lately. It started with a recent offer to do some interiors for a few upcoming YA books. I hadn't done any pen/brush and inks in quite some time and figured I'd try some things out in Photoshop instead (been trying to get more tablet practice). Digitally speaking, I'm still finding my sea legs, but it's been really fun being able to experiment with a new medium. To be honest, I'm finding the process slightly addictive. These are some morning warm up experiments from this past week, just random subjects before I get my day started:

Bonjour Dave,
I'm happy to see you started a blog. And seeing your drawings here is great ! I confirm what you said: digital drawing can be addicting ! ;) And I'm sure it's just the beginning for you: you will have a lot of fun with this medium.
Best,
Julien
very neat, Dave! I especially like the last two, and I never would've expected that you knew you were down with line art stuff, much less digital line art stuff. Stuff like this is on my list of important techniques to master, but I need to stop making excuses and actually do it. You rock, Jumby!
beautiful work comrade! The mohawk girl is very well done with excellent line weight variation. props dude.
very nice dave, excited for future posts
Cool stuff, Dave! And fun hanging out yesterday. Looking forward to following the blog.
Really glad you got a blog bud- of all people you are so productive, you could use one.
These digi inks are fantastic. Tons of life and expression in them. I think you will find, as I have, that the digital world isn't all so bad and there's tons you can learn from it and take back to the traditional oils.
as richie P said -mad props
